The village Poplaca is one of the traditional shephard villages of the “Marginime” – the villages at the foot of the Cindrel mountains near Sibiu – only 9 km away. Here you find the “Casa Bunicului” – the “grandfather’s house”, which the owners have transformed into a cozy holiday home for up to 14 guests in 5 bedrooms.
In the old wooden house, the former residential building, you find a central kitchen room with wood stove, gas stove, sink, microwave and fridge with built in freezer. In the attic there is a first bedroom (4 beds), the bathroom is situated at the ground floor. In the large-scale former barn, is located the dining room for 14 people, a fireplace and a bar and a sitting area. From here you can reach another bedroom for 4 people with private bathroom in the attic.
If you walk a small way further around the 1.200 sm big area you reach another wooden building with three double bedrooms, each of them with private bathroom and electrical heating. A little further you find the big earth cellar (60 sm), which provides an ideal place for evening entertainment.
In the outside area you also find a large patio, a barbecue, a glass greenhouse, plenty of space for strolling and playing.
The proximity to Sibiu and the location on the edge of the Carpathians make the house an ideal place for group activities or several families who prefer the easy way of self-sufficiency to the stay at a hotel.
