“The hobbit house” is a charming little eco-house built of earth, wood, sandbags and clay plaster in a dreamlike environment. Although the house was newly built only a few years ago, it is decorated in traditional Romanian style with hand-made wooden furniture and country-style carpets. It can accommodate 5 people, is ideal for families with children or even small groups.
The house consists of a large living / kitchen area with a simple, functional kitchen, a wood stove and a couch which also serves as a sleeping place. From here you continue to the two bedrooms with double bed and to the bathroom with rustic bath, wash basin, WC. The house is warm thanks to wood-central heating even in the colder periods. From the living room a steep staircase leads to an upper floor, where the owners can also prepare a hay berth on request.
The house was built directly under an imposing rock, surrounded by old laubbume trees with a wonderful view of the alpine meadows. The ideal place to take a civilization break without having to do without the usual amenities such as hot water or wireless Internet.
The owners speak Romanian and English and live in their own house on the same, expansive plot. They run an agriculture with chickens, rabbits, cows, sheep, goats, a horse and a donkey. They grow vegetables in a greenhouse, bake their own bread and delicacies with local ingredients, collect and dry tea, preserve fruits and fruits according to traditional recipes and collect medicinal herbs. They are happy to assist you with tips for excursions and activities and also offer you a wide range of activities on site. This ranges from common bread baking, introduction to milking, scythes to guided excursions and hikes, chiropractic treatment, traditional wood saunas .
